Toshiba and MikroElektronika advance automotive motor control development

The TB9053 DC-motor driver IC from Toshiba Electronics Europe has been integrated into the MikroElektronika (MIKROE) DC Motor 26 Click Board to expedite the development of automotive motor control.

The TB9053 benefits from a dual H-bridge output stage, capable of driving two motors at up to 5A or a single motor up to 10A. The solution features built-in protection and diagnostic technologies, in addition to extra circuitry to save external components including charge-pump capacitors. Additional features of the TB9053 include its thermally enhanced QFN40 package and simplified design to enable the use of compact ECUs.
